Julie is the soprano soloist for The Bushey Festival Gala Concert on July 19th 2008. She will sing the part of Anna - The Merry WIdow as well as Vaughan- WIlliams Benedicite. For tickets see www.festival.bushey.org.uk

 "The Singing School" gave its first termly concert at St Paul's Church, Bushey Hall Road, Bushey on Sunday 9th March at 3pm. St Paul's Church was packed to the rafters and the audience enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of singing. Comments about the concert included "We've never enjoyed singing so much", "What talented students you have" and "What an amazing afternoon!". Tickets were FREE and there was a retiring collection for The Childrens' Society which raised in the region of £200! So congratulations to all performers! The next students' concert will be at St James' Church on June 29th.

"The Singing School" has teamed up with David Drummond - ex-conductor ENO, Scottish Opera and coach at The Royal College of Music and The Royal Academy of Music. Julie and David will be leading a workshop for singers and people interested in singing entitled "How To Perform?!" The two hour workshop will feature six singers of all ages and abilities and is open to audience. It will take place on Sunday 27th April 3-5pm at St James' Church, High Street, Bushey. Audience Tickets are £10 and are available from Julie or on the door.

Bushey Opera Group gave a rousing concert on November 18th @ 3pm St James' Church, Bushey which will form the basis for their new CD. It includes items from opera, oratorio and song with favourites such as Ol Man River, Habanera, La ci darem la Mano, Soave sia il vento, Va Pensiero, In a contemplative fashion and many more... Bushey Opera Group presented an evening of Italian Favourites at The Bushey Festival on July 5th 2008 @ 7.30pm. The programme included items from The Barber of Seville, Rigoletto, Norma, Turandot, Cavalleria Rusticana and was mixed in with italian popular songs such as Santa Lucia, Funiculi Funicula, Que Sera Sera and many others. The concert was received very enthusiastically and the group will perform the concert again a number of times during the next few months. Watch this space for more details!!
