Julie studied Music and German at OxfordBrookesUniversity and followed this with a PGCE and an ARCM diploma from the Royal College of Music. She studied with Elizabeth Robson for a number of years and now studies singing with the eminent vocal expert Janice Chapman and has worked with coaches such as James Lockhart, David Drummond, Phillip Thomas and Linnhe Robertson. She has taken part in Masterclasses with Esther Salaman, Jane Manning, Sir Donald McIntyre and Dennis Wicks.
She is an experienced oratorio and concert artist and has performed most of the major oratorios with choral societies around the country. Recent performances include Mozart’s Mass in C Minor, Requiem and Coronation Mass (St Alban’s Abbey), Schubert’s Mass in G (York Minster), Orff’s Carmina Burana (Oxford), Mendelssohn’s Elijah (Norwich), Handel’s Messiah, Poulenc Gloria, Rossini Petite Messe Solennelle (Harrow), andnumerous performances ofVerdi’s Requiem (Banbury, Potters Bar and Bushey).
In opera she has performed the roles of Donna Elvira and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Countess Almaviva (Figaro), Mimi (La Boheme) and Fiordiligi (Cosi Fan Tutte). She sang the role of Mabel in a performance of The Pirates of Penzance at WindsorCastle and has sung Aida in a performance of Aida at The Watford Colosseum. Her most recent roles have been Violetta (La Traviata), Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana) , Fiordiligi (Cosi Fan Tutte), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) for Classic Opera, Musetta and Countess Almaviva for Harrow Opera and Leonora (Il Trovatore) for Brent Opera.
Julie lives in Bushey with her husband Adrian and their seven year old son James.
